What are Hydroinformatics and Water Management?

The evolution of human activities, in the foreground of climate changes and growing earth population, induces situations more and more complex to manage. The sustainable development of water resources in the aquatic environment and its management represents today a major challenge. The global aim of the management is to avoid or minimize risk of crisis as water supply, irrigation, floods, waste water treatment... HydroInformatics, a European concept, emerges as the central element for the progress of modelling activities and management of capacities. [More...]

For an example of application of Hydroinformatics methods and tools, please look the video of the conference given by Prof. Forrest Holly (USA) on October 23rd, 2010:: "Some aspects of quality control in hydroinformatics"

Jobs in the Water sector

Water and wastewater utilities and other organisations in the sector face a recruitment challenge. There is an ageing workforce, whose skills and expertise need to be handed on to a new generation. At the same time, the sector needs to attract the brightest talent from an ever-widening range of disciplines. This talent is needed to deliver solutions to the issues faced in the sector and to respond to the business opportunities these present.
